What is the Allowlist?

Allowlisted users and roles are excluded from all Hashbot actions, including bans, kicks, and timeouts — even if they match a name filter, profile picture, or keyword.
Note: Allowlisted users do not gain Manager access and cannot modify Hashbot settings.
Prefer a visual interface? You can add, remove, and manage your entire allowlist from the Hashbot Dashboard — no slash commands needed.

When to Use the Allowlist

The allowlist is useful for:
  • Moderators who may trigger impersonation filters - Team members needing protection without admin rights - Trusted bots (e.g., Wick, Beemo, Sentry) - High-profile users or VIPs likely to resemble filtered terms
Allowlisting ensures that trusted users are never mistakenly moderated by Hashbot.

How to Add to the Allowlist

Use the /allowlist add command to allowlist roles or users.

Examples

/allowlist add role:@Moderators /allowlist add user:@tarballqc#0001 /allowlist add user-id:146613143592894464

How to View the Current Allowlist

Run: /allowlist list This will show a count of allowlisted roles and users with a “Manage on Dashboard” button that links to dashboard.hashbot.com for full management.
You can also view and manage your full allowlist directly on the Hashbot Dashboard — add, remove, and review entries without using slash commands.

Users Stay Allowlisted After Protected Roles Are Removed

In versions of Hashbot since October 20, 2025, users with roles that have been Allowlisted will remain on the Allowlist after their roles are removed. You cannot remove a user from the Allowlist while they have a role that is Allowlisted. Users that were given Allowlisted roles before October 20, 2025 need to be migrated onto the Allowlist as individual users. This should have been done automatically; however, if the migration failed, Hashbot managers can run /allowlist migrate to put users with Allowlisted roles on the Allowlist as users.

Auto-Pilot

When Auto-Pilot is enabled in your server settings, every allowlisted member automatically gets name and PFP filters created for them. If someone impersonates a protected member, Hashbot catches it — and filters update automatically when members change their profile. Learn more about Auto-Pilot

Best Practices

  • Only allowlist fully trusted roles or accounts
  • Add essential bots to avoid unintended moderation
  • Avoid using @everyone or other general-purpose roles
  • Review your allowlist regularly with /allowlist list
