What is the Manager Role?

The Manager role allows designated users to:
  • Use all Hashbot slash commands (except /manager add and /manager remove, which are admin-only)
  • Access the Hashbot Dashboard to manage filters, settings, and allowlists
  • Edit the Blocklist (name filters, profile picture filters, etc.)
  • Adjust punishment levels
  • Manage allowlists and other configuration settings
Managers do not need Discord moderation permissions (Ban Members, Kick Members, etc.) — the manager role alone grants full Hashbot access. This role is intended for users who need full control over Hashbot’s configuration. Regular moderators do not need manager access to benefit from Hashbot’s protection.
For the easiest setup, manage your Manager roles from the Hashbot Dashboard — add and remove roles without slash commands.

Who Should Be a Manager?

Assign this role to:
  • Trusted Admins overseeing server configuration
  • Security Leads handling scam/spam mitigation
  • DevOps/Tech Leads managing bot automation and integrations

How to Assign a Manager Role

Only server owners and users with Administrator permission can add or remove manager roles. To give a role manager access, use: /manager add @RoleName Example: /manager add @Admins Once added, all users with that role will be able to use management slash commands.

View Current Managers

To see which roles currently have Manager access, run: /manager list Hashbot will show the current manager role count with a “Manage on Dashboard” button that links to dashboard.hashbot.com for full management.
You can also view and manage manager roles directly on the Hashbot Dashboard.

Best Practices

  • Only grant Manager access to users you fully trust.
  • Do not assign this to broad roles like @everyone or @moderator.
  • Review your manager roles regularly using /manager list.
