Ignored Roles
By default, MemberGator kicks users who don’t have any role after the timer expires. With Ignored Roles, you can mark specific roles that should not count as valid roles. For example, if your server automatically assigns a “temp” role to new users, you can add it to the ignored list. A user who only has the “temp” role will still be treated as unverified and removed after the timer expires — just like a user with no roles at all. Users who have at least one non-ignored role will not be removed.The
/ignorerole commands are admin-only. Only users with the Administrator permission can manage the ignored roles list.Best Practices
- Make sure MemberGator’s bot role is above
@everyone, but below any role it shouldn’t interfere with (e.g., Verified or Member). - Use alongside Server Supervisor or a reaction-role bot for best results.
- Adjust the timer based on how long your onboarding typically takes. 15–30 minutes is a common range.
- Use Ignored Roles for any auto-assigned roles (e.g., “Unverified”, “New Member”) that shouldn’t prevent a user from being kicked.
